This hub exists so that a search for help in Warrandyte does not end on a stale trader page. Official numbers and agencies come first. Named clinics from old directories are not restored.
This is not a hospital. It is not Nurse-on-Call. It is not CFA dispatch. If someone cannot breathe, is bleeding heavily, is bitten by a snake, or a fire is threatening life, call 000.
The stack, in order
- Life-threatening: 000. Say you are in Warrandyte or North Warrandyte, Manningham or Nillumbik, and give the best pin you have. River reserves can confuse geocoding; a Parks Victoria site name (Pound Bend, Jumping Creek) helps.
- Warnings, incidents, fire danger information: VicEmergency, the app, or 1800 226 226.
- Fire behaviour, Total Fire Ban, household planning: CFA.
- Park gates, track closures, wildlife incidents in the park: Parks Victoria / 13 1963.
- Ordinary municipal questions: Manningham or Nillumbik.
- Non-emergency health: use official Victorian health finders and the practice’s own page. We will not publish a GP roster that will be wrong by winter.
Why a village wants this spelled out
Warrandyte is scenic and interface. Ambulance and tanker access is why Parks Victoria tells people not to park illegally at Pound Bend. A picnic that blocks a gate is a health services problem.
Mobile coverage drops in folds of the gorge. Parks Victoria already notes 112 as a fallback to reach Triple Zero via another network. Tell your group that before you split up on Blue Tongue Bend.
Heat, river current, falling limbs, and snakes are the ordinary outdoor harms. None of them require a statistic from this website. They require preparation and a willingness to leave when CFA says the day is Extreme or Catastrophic.
Health services that are not emergencies
Allied health, GPs, pharmacies, and mental-health support exist in the wider east of Melbourne. Some are in the village; many are in larger centres along the arterials. The old directory named businesses we will not repeat. Find current providers through:
- the practice’s own site
- official health directories
- your insurer or GP referral, when that is how the system works
This hub will not rank osteopaths or invent a bulk-billing claim. See also health and fitness for the non-acute side.
Poison, bite, smoke
- Snakebite: 000 + Better Health Channel. Guide: Are there snakes in Warrandyte?
- Smoke and asthma on fire days: VicEmergency and health advice — do not “wait and see” on a ridge.
- River immersion: cold water and snags; 000 if someone is missing or in trouble. There is no implied lifeguard at a picnic table.
For operators
If you provide a genuine health service and want to be considered for a future verified mention, use contact with a public, regulator-consistent URL. We still will not turn this page into an advertisement, and we will not imply endorsement.
If you reached this URL looking for a named provider from years ago, use the stack above — not an archive. Current care is found through official health finders and the practice’s own page.
Finding ordinary care without a ghost directory
An old directory mixed genuine services with whatever paid for a listing. That mix is gone. For a GP, pharmacy, dentist, or allied-health visit that is not an emergency:
- use a government or insurer finder, or a referral
- confirm the address is in the catchment you can actually reach today
- confirm after-hours arrangements on their page
Do not drive a deteriorating patient around the east looking for a remembered shopfront. That is what 000 is for.
Mental health and after hours
Bushfire seasons and isolation are hard on people. Official Victorian mental-health helplines exist and change their display names over time; search a government health page rather than trusting a number reprinted in a guide. If someone is in immediate danger, 000 still wins.
This independent site is not a counsellor.
Visitors from interstate or overseas
Emergency numbers in Australia start at 000. Your travel insurer is not the first call while someone is not breathing. Parks are not staffed like ticketed theme parks. Carry any personal medication you cannot miss, because a village is not a 24-hour CBD.
Community responders
CFA brigades in this landscape are part of why the township still exists in its present shape. They are not a tour. Do not block stations, do not follow tankers for content, and do not treat a siren as a spectator sport.
If you want to volunteer, that process lives on CFA and other agency pages. We will not invent a recruitment pledge.
Keep snakes, dogs, and things to do in the same mental folder as this hub: they are how you avoid joining the emergency stack in the first place.
